
On the afternoon of December 4, the China-Europe Business Delegation held a meeting in Rome with representatives from the Italian National Association of the Distilling Industry (AssoDistil) and the International Geographical Indications Network (oriGIn). The meeting was attended by Cesare Mazzetti, President of AssoDistil, Sandro Cobirol, Board Member of AssoDistil, and Massimo Vittori, Managing Director of oriGIn. The three parties engaged in in-depth discussions on geographical indication protection for Italian distilled spirits and liquors, aligning international standards, international brand promotion, and the cooperation mechanisms between China and Italy in the alcoholic beverage sector. They also focused on organizing dedicated promotion events for spirits during the China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement Forum, as well as facilitating the participation of spirits and geographical indication product companies in the China-Italy Agriculture Cooperation and Development Forum. All parties expressed their commitment to jointly advancing practical cooperation in the areas of geographical indication protection and the spirits industry between China and Italy.
